| Lac
Du Rocher Camp is located approximately 250 km northeast of
Yellowknife close to the transition of treeline to central
barren land habitat of the Northwest Territories. The camp
is situated at the north end of the lake bordering a quiet bay
and esker system that produces hours of hiking and wildlife
viewing potential when you need a break from the constant
battles with the lakes’ big trout and energetic arctic
grayling. When the sun does set the view is spectacular This“do-it-yourself”
fishing camp consists of five tent-frames that will
accommodate fishing parties from 6 to 10. Three tents provide
bunk style sleeping accommodations, while the other two tents
include the dining/cooking tent and a staff tent or additional
bunk space for the larger fishing parties. Cooking facilities
include a propane stove and oven, fridge and freezer space.
Each tent contains stove heaters for the cooler fishing
seasons and lighting powered by a gas generator. Boating
equipment provided at Lac du Rocher includes three 16’
aluminum boats outfitted with 15 and 20 hp motors. There are
also two 17’ fiberglass canoes for the fishermen who
want to explore those nearby lakes that are virtually
unfished. Fishing at Lac Du Rocher is limitless with miles of lake and island shorelines to explore for big trout and northern pike. There are also countless inflowing streams, lake narrows and out flowing rivers that provide superb arctic grayling habitat for the spin cast enthusiast and avid fly fisherman. Bring a variety of fishing tackle so you can be as flexible as the fish you can catch. | | |||
